Côte d’Azur is the Mediterranean coast of South of France. It is an exotic place for travelers from every place of this earth. It is famous for its glamour and beaches and nice sunny weather. 1) Antibes 

 

It is one of the oldest towns in French Riviera. Antibes draws travelers for its antique and artistic history. It has one of the famous old Churches named Antibes Cathedral which was built in the 5th or 6th century. Also, there is a local charm to be seen in the Provencal Food Market, and historic Musee Picasso reveals the art work of the artist. Formerly, the Chateau Grimaldi was the place where Picasso stayed in 1946 and created many paintings that are now part of the heritage. This is the main culture to be seen in the beautiful town of Antibes.
To wind up, there are picture-perfect beaches and mega yachts worth to be seen.

2) Cannes

 

Cannes is known to the world by its International Film Festival and various congresses which are held every year at Palais des Festivals.

It draws an extraordinary flow of travelers from around the world. Cannes is a shimmering  seaside destination with people walking on Cannes La Croisette from all walks of life. It is the home to luxury, everything from haute couture fashion, luxury cars, best bars to have drinks with nice ambiance, scenic views and host of nice hotels, Martinez being one of the best luxury choice. Cannes offers great seaside views and Culture Musee de la Castre is a home to ethnographic art in medieval fortress overlooking the La Croisette and Marina beach.

There is yet a place to be seen by a ferry, a 15 minutes ride, which lands you to two of the Lerins Islands off the coast,  restorative landscape away from the hustle and bustle. 
Ile St Honart, known for community of monks. It is the second largest of Lernis Islands. The island is 1.5 km in length and 400 meters wide.  It has a monastery with Cistercian monks and provides a peaceful and welcome retreat. Its stunning view will amaze you. The second one is Ile St Marguerite, the spot of hidden coves and beaches.  It is the largest of the lernis islands. The island is 3km in length and 900m in width. This is amazing experience for a day, you can swim, bike and enjoy gourmet food. 

3) Eze

 

Eze is a blissful and clam medieval village of French Riviera. It is high above the sea level in craggy cliffs 14 century chapels and well preserved stone buildings  with winding alleyways and beautiful  Mediterranean backdrop makes this tiny village as the most scenic view set up by nature.

The famous Nietzsche path is the hiking trails which sits 1400 feet above the sea level. It connects the town and the summit. Eze is known as ‘Eagles Nest’ because of its location overlooking a high cliff 427 meters above sea level. The great view of  Mediterranean sea. At the top you will find the towns medieval fortress. There are exotic garden, brimming with succulents and exotic florals.

4) Menton

 

Menton is a town on Franco Italian boarder in French Riviera in Southeast of France. It has famous beaches and gardens like, Serre de la Madone garden with the collection of rare plants. The medieval town is home to Basilique Saint-Michel, 18 century bell tower. 

The lemon festival ( fete de citron ) is a carnival like festival held in honor of famous local lemons in the month of February – March. This is a celebration of spring and a past history of the town when it  servived mainly on citron production.

5) Grasse


Grasse is a commune in Alpes Maritimes department on French Riviera. It is famous for its long established perfume industry. Musee International de la Parfumerie situated in the town center celebrates the heritage of the perfume industry. Famous perfumeries like, Fragonard, Molinard and Galimard offer  free tours. 

The real reason to come here is to view the endless fields of Lavander that dominate the hilly  area landscape. Jasmine Festival is another point of attraction for tourists in August. It is a three day celebration of Jasmine. 

Homes are draped in Jasmine garlands, people dancing in the streets and Jasmine petals and smell everywhere. A quick stop here is worthwhile to buy few perfumes and smell the aromas of Lavender fields.
